This monograph features a set of extraordinarily expressive color photographs by an established yet relentlessly inventive artist.

The book is introduced with neutral binding cloth and subtle foil stamping to bring attention to the striking cover image. Inside, the strong colors and bold forms of the photographs are complemented by a simple grid and classic typography.

Evenly split between horizontal and vertical formats, the photographs required nearly square page proportions for equal stature. Despite a limited range of layout options — bleeding off three edges or placed within deliberately asymmetrical margins — the sequence is surprisingly varied and dramatic. The large format makes movement through the book a journey in itself. Brief illuminating texts presented before and after the plates are set directly and confidently on the spacious pages.

It was a privilege to work closely with the artist and her devoted publisher to design this publication. The top-notch printing at Meridian and a celebratory exhibition with the artist’s gallery made the entire project an absolute pleasure.
